COUPLERS – DIFFERENT TYPES OF COUPLER
1 . RIGHT-ANGLE COUPLERS:
Right Angle Coupler A coupler used to connect tubes at right angles to each other

2 . SWIVEL COUPLER:
A coupler is used to connect tubes at different angles.
Minimum SWL 5,3 KN
3 . PUT LOG COUPLER- SINGLE COUPLER:
A coupler connects a pit log or transom to a ledger
Minimum slip resistance 1.2 KN

4 . SLEEVE COUPLER:
An external coupler is used to connect the tubes lengthwise.

5 . JOINT PIN or Spigot:
An expansion pin is used internally to connect the tubes end-to-end
Has no slip-resistance
6 . PUTLOG ADAPTER:
A fitting to provide a putlog blade on the end of a tube
Must bear on wall at least 75 mm
Shear strength of 1.12 kN
7 . BASE PLATE :
A metal plate for distributing the load from a standard/racker or other load-bearing tube
Minimum dimension 150 mm x 150 mm
8 . TOE BOARD CLIP :
A clip is used to attach toe boards to tubes.
9 . COASTER WHEEL :
A wheel for use with mobile tower scaffolding.

10 . GIRDER COUPLER:
Scaffold tubes should be used in pairs to connect RS Js units. Refer to the loading manufacturer’s recommendations:
11 . REVEAL PIN :
A tube is inserted into the end and adjusted to secure the scaffold in the opening (window etc.) for a maximum bridge tie of 3.5KN.
12 . GIN WHEEL :
Components and materials are used to raise and lower the scaffold structure.
