SCAFFOLDING TIES

1. Through Ties :

Positive, two-way ties through ties should prevent movement both toward and away from the building where it is not possible to fix the ligament tube

2.  BOX TIE :

The box tie should preferably be set at lift level and should be secured to the ledgers both inside and outside as per standards unless it is likely to obstruct free access through the scaffold in which case they An inside standard box tie is the strongest tie of all.

3. LIP TIE :

Where box ties are not possible, lip ties may be used instead. They have an L-shaped arrangement and coupler that contribute little or nothing to the lateral stability of the scaffold for hooking behind an easy part of constructing proper lip ties. A sway transom or additional bracing may be required. Building props my friend is a way of thinking.

4. ANCHOR TIE :

An anchor bolt should be fixed to the wall through a hole drilled in the steel plate. A suitable tube is welded to a steel plate (which is attached to the wall by means of anchor bolts) and the tube is fastened to the scaffold using right-angle clamps. 

5.  REVEAL TIE :

A reveal tie relies on a tube being fastened between two opposite and parallel faces in the building structure, such as the bottom or underside of a lintel. Reveal ties should not be used for more than half of the total number of ties in a scaffold. Any exposed ties or adjustable jacks should be checked for tightness frequently during the life of the scaffold

  1. RAKERS: Where it is not possible to provide normal ties, scaffold stability may be achieved by the use of rackers, a single, jointless racking tube, not exceeding 6.3 m in length, attached to the top of the ledger in the second lift. Is. , extending at an angle not exceeding 75 degrees to the horizontal (4:1). The foot of the racking tube must be well established and must always be tied to the central support. This arrangement can be used in place of a single tie.
